As the Academy continues to grow some changes have to be made to our grading system.
All students will be receiving a report card on progress made in class. Outlining the essentials of Brazilian jiujitsu. A score of 1-5 will be awarded indicating where improvements can be made as well as an overall score. Additionally, Starting April 17th all successful participants will receive a certificate of rank with their new belt.
We have set up a photo booth to take pictures of each of the children with their new achievement! Parents will receive a copy of the pictures in the following days once everything has been processed.
With more than 120 children being graded parents will understand that we need to cover our cost, we have added registration with a minimal cost of $10 to cover our expenses. Please register with the link below.
Understanding the BJJ belt system
Belt stripes what do they mean?
White stripes represent a completed grading
Yellow Stripes represent participation in our in-house tournament
Red stripes represent participation in any out side tournament
How do the stripes affect your rank ?
4 white stripes
3 white stripes and 2 coloured stripes (either red or yellow)
Once one of these combinations has been achieved the next level belt will be awarded.
How long should it take to progress to the next belt?
On average students move through one belt colour per year. The expectation is that each student will attend 3 gradings and 2 in-house or exterior tournaments per annum.
